Independent Reviews by Mummy Bloggers:

Since becoming a mum I have had to give up on wearing nice jewellery as the 11 month old has a tight grip and having already broken one of my favourite chains I was weary of it happening again, i was also worried that any necklace I did wear would hurt his little hands or even his mouth
The “Van Outen” is a blue and red marble effect heart shaped pendent on a long black cord and costs £12.50 from the Gumigem online store. When it arrived my little one was fast asleep unfortunately, but once he’d woken up I put my new purchase on and he immediately grabbed for it. A brief period of passing the pendent from hand to hand ensued before it went straight into his mouth for a good old chew, and there it remained for quite a while. When I got it back it was a little “gooey” but otherwise in perfect condition. A brilliant purchase and a must for anyone with an inquisitive and/or teething baby.

'From the day Ryan was born I automatically removed all my necklaces and large earrings knowing full well that one day soon he'd be tugging away at them. It was a shame because I love my gold chains and I missed wearing them. I was a little unsure about the GUMIGEM teething necklace at first. I kept thinking that my little man is gonna pull on it so hard that it might hurt me but I'm happy too say that i was totally wrong. Ryan was happy too chew on the pendant without really bothering too pull too much on the necklace and even when he did, I hardley even noticed

'I was really looking forward to receiving the necklace as I have long ago given up accessorising. In our old house my necklaces hung proudly in colour coded groups (I know, I’m sad) from hooks on the wall. Since we moved they have stayed in the box they travelled in, tucked safely away from little hands.
Gumigem sent me a purple heart on a black cord.
I took it out of the pretty pouch it came in and tried it on. Little M took a while to notice it, but once she did it was soon in her mouth.
She loves it and picks it up for a good chew when ever she is on my lap.
The cord has a breakaway clasp so if she pulls it too hard it doesn’t break your neck comes off. This also means I am happy for Big M to wear the necklace too, as she feels really grown up looking after her baby sister. Another really great feature is the fact that you can pop the chewy bit (not the cord, obviously) into the dishwasher for a proper clean.
If I’m honest, the necklace isn’t really my style (I’m more of a chunky bead kid of girl) but I realise that beads aren’t quite as safe for babies. I think I would prefer wearing it if it was a simple disc. Gumigem are looking to expand their range though, so maybe there will be a few more styles soon.'
'I know a teething necklace seems a strange idea - I thought the same! Gumigem! are teething necklace's made from materials similar to those on baby teethers. Basically the teething part is the 'pendant' on the end of a piece of strong cord fastened with a 'breakaway' clasp. The necklace is worn by the mother and the pendant provides an instant baby teether.
The pendant is BPA, lead, latex and Phtalate free and can easily be sterilised or put in a dishwasher just be removing the cord - a simple yet clever idea!.
Tala gave it a try.......
A New Addition
I think for a product to wear to help your baby while teething it is quite stylish, I will do another post, once baby is here and teething for my opinions of what I think to product and baby. However my first impression is that it is a handy product to own for mummy and baby

As you can see from the following photos the Gumigem proved to be a great hit with Zara and definitely has her approval ![]()

We were lucky enough to be sent one of these for review and Little E is constantly sticking it in her mouth. I don't need to worry about her playing with my jewellery anymore but we do sterilise it often. It came in handy the other day when I'd forgotten her teether when we were out and about. It's a great idea and there are lots of styles to choose from. They'd make a great gift - the heart shaped ones especially as a nice little Valentine's gift - or if you know that your man is no good at taking hints then why not treat yourself!

'There is no point wearing normal jewellery as it is either not safe for him to chew on or will just get broken so I am happy towear something that looks great and will also ease his pain.......A heart pendant would set you back just £12.50 which in my opinion is an absolute bargin!'

Your baby can chew away, and you are happy in the knowledge that not only is it safe, but you have an attractive piece of jewellery to boot. Noah chomped away for ages on my wife's Gumigem necklace, so something must be working!

My Gumigem necklace arrived today, which was amazingly quick, and my
daughter and I are delighted with it.
It is a beautiful necklace that I would wear anyway, and Emily is
thrilled to have a toy to hand whenever I pick her up. She is seven
months old and awaiting her first teeth so her gums are giving her
serious bother; now she always has something she can chew on. I think
she is however a little bamboozled as to why this necklace doesn't get
snatched away like previous ones, she can't believe her luck!
I shall not hesitate to recommend you to anyone that will listen,
anywhere I can. I haven't been this impressed with any purchase for a
very long time.
Thank you so much for making these and for making them so reasonably
priced as well.

I had stopped wearing necklaces as my 8 month old was prone to pulling on them or trying to put them in his mouth but now he can do it all he likes! I bought my Gumigem at the baby show. It was so hard to decide which one as there are so many lovely colours. I put it on straight away as I was carrying Nattie in a sling and he spent the rest of the show chewing on it or turning it round in his hands while staring intently at it. He also plays with it while breast feeding which stops him getting distracted and trying to look around! The breakaway clasp is tight enough that it doesn’t come away too easily and also means that if I want to put Nattie down while he is playing with it I can easily pop it off rather than trying to slip it over my head or taking it off of him. I can then fasten the clasp round part of his pushchair if necessary; for safe keeping.

baby loves it – teething like mad! I love the design too – so nice to be able to wear nice jewellery without either hurting your baby when you cuddle up with them, or your baby trying to eat it and you having to keep taking it off them – fantastic J
